Tempo by Martin Berasategui, Cancun Review

Tempo by Martin Berasategui

My friends and I had the pleasure of dining at TEMPO by Martin Berasategui, during our vacation in Cancun. The restaurant was the only fine dining we ate at during our entire trip. Frankly, it was the only restuarant I was intruiged in.

Chef Martín Berasategui a world renowned chef/restauranteur (aka six-star Michelin chef) whom have brought his passion for food to Paradisus Cancun Resort in Mexico.

Tempo by Martin Berasategui is the latest culinary establishment.

Tempo by Martin Berasategui is open to all including non-guests and provides a classy atmosphere for intimate conversations over long dinners. The perfect combination of elegance, the avant-garde and the traditional flavors of Basque cuisine. Dress code as expected is formal/elegant.

This is one of those magical places that merge amazing and unusual food, with pleasing service for an unforgettable overall experience.

The tasting menu is chock full of wondrous dishes that incorporate interesting flavors and a myriad of textures and colors in one of the most sensuous dining experiences I’ve ever had.

The service is top notch and still yet friendly and relaxed.

Tempo by Martin Berasategui is so much more than a “meal”, it is a dining experience to be shared and appreciated. The Tasting Menu (11 Courses with dessert) was amazing. Each plate was perfectly paired with a wine to create an adventure.

Our group is all well traveled, and well fed 🙂 Tempo’s tasting dinner was superb and one of the finest meals we’ve ever had. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff pleasant and very well trained.

And the food? Well, there was not a misstep in any of the numerous courses.

Plus, compared to what a meal like this would cost in the States, it was a bargain.

A Four Diamond restaurant with a six Michelin star chef in 3 restaurants who educates staff to deliver dining perfection. Highlights were the royal grilled scallops seasoned with a herb coffee pepper and curry foam and the grilled butterfish over truffled spinach, crab gelatin, and champagne foam.

Classical piano played in the background by a Ukrainian trained musician throughout the meal was amazing.

I’ve dined in many 5 star restaurants in the Asia and America – this was one of my finest experiences. Exceptional service and gastronomical delights.

PS: Goal here is to buy these Michelin guides and just tick each one off. I, my stomach, can’t keep up though. Going to be a well documented food adventure for sure!

WE WILL BE BACK (with better pictures).
