Secrets The Vine Cancun Review (part 2)

Here’s my continued post to Secrets the Vine in Cancun! If you guys read the first post, you would know this was a very special trip for me. My first all inclusive vacay and the first of many trips with all my friends! It was the stepping stone to my little travel bug and quite literally, Mexico still remains one of my favourite place to be. Yes, there are SO much, exotic countries in the world to travel but if you love Mexico you know what I am talking about. A lot of you guys asked for my all inclusive trips so I’ll start adding a bunch of trips I’ve done mostly, being at Secrets, because I just love the chain (except for Jamaica). EDIT: I just came back from another secrets location and did not like it.. maybe this is the only good secrets around.

We booked the Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite Ocean Front ($1500 per night) which included, of course, all inclusive of drinks and food. I will get into the “preferred” details later, overall, the room was AMAZING. The room is perfect for couples looking for a touch of luxury to their stay. It is cleaned to a high standard daily and butlers and concierge service is at your beckon call 24/7. I loved the large shower with dual shower heads. Also was a huge fan of the vanity area and the fact that there was a stool and make-up mirror for me when I was getting ready. Also, you cannot beat the views. We were on the 24th floor and the ocean is spectacular. IMG_2269IMG_2336 IMG_2337The suite is on the corner, which means a huge balcony on two sides of the hotel. This room is fabulous and well worth the extra money if you are someone who enjoys the room-type as part of your vacation experience or if you’re celebrating a special occasion of course! There is a sitting area and comfy lounge chair. One fun feature is the retracting tv (into a console) and in-suite soaking tub in the middle of the room. The bathroom is very large, sleek and modern, featuring white glass and beautiful teak wood.  IMG_2339 IMG_2340The view from the huge soaking tub was spectacular! Lots of storage and counter space and all the amenities you could ever need! The views were awesome from every point on the giant wrap around balcony. Comfy furniture as well. The bed was to die for. It was so comfortable. Like better than my eight thousand dollar mattress at home. The bedding was soft and changed daily and the pillows were unreal.  IMG_2344IMG_2351One of my favourite part about my room was the view!!! You must remember if you want this view you have to book the OCEANFRONT, not the ocean view room. Ocean front will give you that unobstructed ocean view whereas the ocean view room you will get the partial ocean views (if that made any sense at all!). You can order breakfast in the morning and the butler will come set up the whole meal ready for you to enjoy! The best.IMG_2353IMG_2354IMG_2355IMG_2356

IMG_2345So one of the main reason I upgraded to the preferred club (literally an extra $500 a night) was because of this pool. Now, I know it sounds crazy but I am a pool girl. Especially infinity pools. Other perks included upgraded liquour to the top notch brands such as Patron, Don Julio all top shelves brand! There’s also a private preferred lounge (which was meh) and a private check in. I only really cared bout the room and the pool, okay and yes drinks too. IMG_2346The preferred club pool is much quieter and the service is generally much more attentive at this pool. Also, liked the bar at the preferred club lounge. Very nice to be able to just stop in a grab a glass of wine or a mixed drink.   IMG_2367IMG_2368IMG_2370IMG_2369IMG_2357

IMG_2358Omg the gym was just my favourite here!! Lots of ellipitcals, treadmills, spinning bikes as well as steppers, recumbent bikes and resistance machines. There are free weights as well as yoga mats available. The gym manager is always there to help, he keeps the equipment clean with fresh water bottles and clean towels available at each machine. The view from the gym is over the beach and ocean, for any fitness lovers, this is fucking amazing. It made me want to work out even more (but I was drunk most of the time so nope lol didn’t happen) but still amazing.

The view from the room during sunset…. can someone take me back!! IMG_2359 IMG_2360 IMG_2361 IMG_2362Some mexican food at the restaurant in the resort, set at the preferred pool area at night! Loved it and the view! IMG_2363 IMG_2364 IMG_2365 IMG_2366IMG_2371 IMG_2376 IMG_2377 IMG_2379 IMG_2380 IMG_2381 IMG_2382 IMG_2383 IMG_2384 IMG_2385

I wish had more photos of the spa however, I don’t!!! But it was JUST AS amazing as everything else in this resort!! The entire Spa was beautifully layed out and very modern! We were very happy with the service and enjoyed our time relaxing in the spa’s, steam room and sauna. Yes, it wasn’t cheap but where I come from spa service at 5 stars hotel isn’t cheap anyways! The massage was around $250 and probably the top 5 massage experience I ever had! Def worth giving it a try. The view from the spa is fantastic as well. Argh where in this resort doesn’t offer a view?!? IMG_2266IMG_2330IMG_2332IMG_2333IMG_2334IMG_2335

I definitely enjoyed my week long vacation here and would recommend it over and over again! Secrets the Vine is a modern building that is more like a condo instead of a sprawling jungle resort. We have stayed at Secrets Jamaica and Marquis Los Cabos and this one is quite different, and it is important to know how it compares to the other. It was one of the best all inclusive I had in terms of food, drinks, service and amenities! It was so great it didn’t even fell “all inclusive”. But I expected that with the price tag. We spent over 10k at the resort!

For anyone thinking about the preferred club upgrade basically, this is what you get. PC guests have a preferred check-in area in the PC Club lounge, hot/cold food (tapas style for: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) premium bar options, personal concierge service and access to the PC infinity pool on the 12th floor along with the outdoor restaurant next to it for lunch. The pool has lounge chairs in front of the pool and private sunbeds off to the side. The pool is usually in full sun except for little corners of shade throughout the day. PC rooms are on the higher floors with express elevators to the higher floors.

If that’s worth the extra money for you (it was for me) def upgrade!
